Mantra: noun [C] /ˈmæn·trəa word or phrase that is often repeated and expresses a particular strong belief

Of which I have many. Some I use everyday and others, well, not so much. I even found a website that sells mantra bands (at http://www.mantraband.com). No, I am not a paid spokeswoman nor am I getting any compensation (at least not yet anyways) for mentioning them.  And yes, I own several. In fact, I have been known to give them away to friends and acquaintances after having meaningful conversations and creating a bond that warrants them to believe in what the mantra band says. Some of our mantras are the same. And over the years, I have created my own.

All of my mantras have a special meaning and some kind of back story. Some stories are older (and funnier) than others. But every day I find that I can interchange them for what ever is happening at that moment in my life.

I don’t live an extraordinary life. My hubby Clay and I, along with our 3 longhaired mini doxies, live in a two bedroom townhouse in downtown Harrisburg, PA. Our youngest son moved here five months after we did and lives in our second bedroom with his dog Fang. We belong to a country club and play golf on the weekends. Some evenings we walk to a local bar for a cocktail to decompress from our day at work. Most evenings we are in bed by 8 watching Netflix (the actual movies and tv shows). Nothing spectacular.

I am a Funeral Director Intern. This is my third career and feel that this is my last. I love going to work everyday and do what I do. Some days are more challenging than others, some families demand more from me than others do, and some weeks just feel like they will never ever end.

Hence the reason for this blog. My hope is that this will give me a way to turn off my brain at the end of the day and close the 20,000 tabs that are open. And I hope that you can find and understand the humor (sometimes twisted) behind my mantras that makes me who I am.
